Fu Xi's tree
How the binary ordering is generated
Tap a leaf of the tree and see how each yin or yang branching writes one of its bits.
Shao Yong's sequence is not memorized: it is generated. From the taiji come two (yin and yang), from each of those come two more, and at the sixth doubling there are 64 leaves. Each level of the tree decides one line of the hexagram, from the bottom up. It is the link between the hypercube and the Shao Yong square: the factory of the counting.
documented decision: yin on the left, yang on the right; since the first branching is the bottom line (the heaviest bit, 32), the leaves fall from left to right in the exact binary order 0 to 63 (verified)
No leaf chosen yet. The path from the root to any leaf is, bit by bit, the hexagram.
The leaves of the yin and yang branching tree, from left to right, are the binary ordering 0 to 63; the path from the root to a leaf matches the lines of the hexagram bit by bit.
verificar_arbolThe tree reconstructs the genesis of the Earlier Heaven sequence attributed to Shao Yong.
